Looking back over the history of MyBridge, there are moments we simply can’t explain apart from God.
Again and again, when the vision was bigger than our resources or experience, God made a way.
God made a way!
Miracle #1: MyBridge Radio is born
In 2003, KROA 95.7 in Grand Island was for sale and at risk of being sold for secular use.
We were a young ministry with no radio experience and no money to buy a station.
But in just four months, God provided a $750,000 down payment, a $750,000 loan, and $300,000 for the first year of operation.
MyBridge Radio was born.
Only God.
Miracle #2: MyBridge Reaches the Panhandle
In 2006, our Board sensed God leading MyBridge from one station to a statewide network.
Less than a week later, a radio broker unexpectedly contacted us about purchasing KPNY, a station covering much of the Nebraska Panhandle.
God provided the station, the down payment, free studio space, and opportunities to add translators in key Panhandle communities.
Another Only God story.
Miracle #3: An Impossible Price
A powerful Lincoln station, KRKR 95.1 FM, had once been priced at more than $6 million. We quickly concluded it was out of OUR reach.
BUT GOD! Years later, the price began falling.
Still feeling sobered by the size of the decision, Stan Parker, our TEAM Lead, told the MyBridge board, “If the price was one million, it would be crazy to NOT take it. There would be no way it would not be God! But there is NO WAY they will ever go that low.”
In 2009, MyBridge purchased KRKR for exactly $1 million.
Only God.
Miracle #4: The 360 Challenge
In 2016, KROA needed a new antenna.
The goal: 360 listeners giving $360 in 360 minutes, with every dollar matched.
We had never seen that amount given in an entire day.
That morning, the 360 Challenge was complete in HALF the time! Just 180 minutes and we were done! Our anchor station was secured for years to come!
Another miracle.
Miracle #5: The Start of MyBridge Español
In 2021, God opened the door for MyBridge to purchase a Grand Island station and launch MyBridge Español, bringing Christian radio in Spanish to Nebraska listeners in their heart language.
The cost was half a million dollars. It was more than we had ever received in a single day.
That evening, every dollar needed was given – and this year we celebrate five years of MyBridge Español!!
Only God. Another miracle.
Miracle #6: The Million Dollar Miracle
In 2022, MyBridge was awarded several new frequencies, creating the opportunity to grow more, and faster, than at any other time in our history. But those stations had to be built and on the air by a firm deadline, or we would lose the frequencies forever.
The cost was $1 million. Half was miraculously committed in matching funds, and we invited the MyBridge family to provide the other half.
The response began at 6 a.m. By 10 a.m., the entire goal was met.
Only God. Another miracle!
The story continues!!
These stories remind us that MyBridge has never been built on having enough resources or experience.
It’s been built on trusting God and following His lead, looking for where He is at work, joining Him there, and inviting others to do the same!
As we celebrate Impact Days, we look back with gratitude and forward with expectancy.
The God who wrote these stories is still at work, and we’re excited to see what He writes next!
