“I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—so that the world will believe you sent me.” – John 17:21
In Lincoln, Nebraska, God is stirring hearts in the Spanish-speaking community.
Hugo, a bilingual pastor, recalls the moment it began:
“I was in a quiet time with the Lord in prayer, and in my devotion I read the Gospel of John, chapter 17. Jesus was praying to His Father that the believers can be in unity.”
The verse that gripped his heart reads:
“I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—so that the world will believe you sent me.” (John 17:21)
That prayer of Jesus sparked a vision — an event where pastors and churches from across Nebraska could gather together in unity, just as Jesus prayed.
And so, “Somos Uno En Jesús (We Are One in Jesus)” was born.
This special evening will bring together Spanish-speaking believers from different congregations to worship God and lift their voices in prayer — as one body in Christ.
“I think this event is a great opportunity for us to worship our God, pray to Him as His church, and connect with brothers, sisters, and pastors from around Nebraska,” Hugo says. “We believe God moves when we follow Jesus’ example and pursue unity!”
Excitement is building for what God will do through this gathering — encouraging and uniting His people.
